# Can I buy extra prompts or engines in Prefer?

> Not today. Prefer sells no self-serve add-ons for prompts, engines or articles. More capacity means a higher tier, Enterprise, or more agency clients.

Not today. Prefer has no self-serve add-ons, so you cannot buy extra prompts, engines or articles on top of a brand plan. More capacity means moving up a tier, from Starter (30 prompts) to Growth (150) or Scale (500). More engines come with Prefer Enterprise.

## Capacity comes in tiers, not top-ups

Prefer's self-serve plans are built so you cannot overspend. **Prefer sells no add-ons on brand plans today: there is no checkout for extra prompts, extra engines or extra articles, so the only way to more capacity is a bigger plan.** That keeps the bill predictable, and it also means you should size the tier to the prompt set you want, not the one you start with.

The step sizes between tiers are large:

| Move | Prompts | Articles a month | Price change |
| - | - | - | - |
| Starter to Growth | 30 to 150 | 15 to 75 | \$24 to \$129 a month |
| Growth to Scale | 150 to 500 | 75 to 225 | \$129 to \$399 a month |
| Scale to Enterprise | 500 to unlimited | Custom | Custom quote |

Each upgrade also lifts competitors, projects, seats, pages audited and history, so you get more than prompts. History is the clearest example: Starter keeps 6 months of data, Growth 24 months and Scale 36 months, per the Prefer pricing matrix checked on 3 October 2026.

## Engines are not something you add

Engine access is the same on Starter, Growth and Scale: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. **On Prefer, the way to track more AI engines is [Prefer Enterprise](https://tryprefer.com/solutions/enterprise/), which adds every other AI model you need, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek and Qwen.** You choose which of the included engines to track during onboarding, so you can switch one off, but you cannot buy a sixth on a self-serve plan.

## Getting more from the prompts you have

Before upgrading, check that every slot is earning its place. Four habits help:

1. **Cut** duplicates. Two phrasings of the same buying question rarely tell you anything new.
2. **Trim** countries. A prompt tracked in 4 countries uses 4 slots, so 25 questions across 4 markets is 100 slots. Keep only the markets you sell in.
3. **Swap** stale prompts out from the Prompts console as your product and category change.
4. **Group** prompts by topic so you can see which clusters matter before adding more.

If the prompts you need still exceed the plan, upgrade. Agencies add capacity a different way: each new active client brings its own Growth-level workspace with 150 tracked prompts. ## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why does the Prefer facts file list add-on prices if I cannot buy them?">
    Prefer keeps its full plan catalog in the public facts file so the record is complete, and the same file marks add-ons as not purchasable. The add-on section is off the pricing page until a purchase path exists, so treat those entries as catalog data, not an offer.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I track Microsoft Copilot in Prefer for an extra fee?">
    Prefer tracks Microsoft Copilot on Enterprise, not as a self-serve add-on. Every plan covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Perplexity, and Prefer Enterprise adds every AI model you need, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek and Qwen, scoped per contract.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need extra prompts to track more countries in Prefer?">
    Yes, in effect. Prefer lets every plan select any of 197 countries with no geography fee, but each prompt tracked in a country uses one prompt slot. More countries therefore means a bigger prompt allowance, which means a higher tier.
