Prefer tracks Perplexity on every paid plan, with its own share of voice and a per-engine Sources view. It is not in the free audit. Yes. Prefer tracks Perplexity on every paid plan, from Starter to Enterprise, and on the free trial. Perplexity is not one of the three engines in the free audit. Because Perplexity cites far more sources per answer than the other engines, Prefer's per-engine citation views matter most here. *Last updated 3 October 2026* ## Perplexity is on every paid Prefer plan Prefer tracks Perplexity on Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise, and on the free trial. It is the one engine of the five that the free audit leaves out. The audit runs ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini, so your first Perplexity numbers arrive when you start tracking. ## Perplexity cites far more than the others **In Prefer's September 2026 study, Perplexity cited 19.48 sources per answer, more than six times ChatGPT's 3.05.** It also searched the live web for every single answer, the only engine of four to do so. First, each Perplexity citation shares the answer with many other sources. Your Citation Share for Perplexity will often look different from your Share of Voice. Second, Perplexity is the most repeatable engine we tested. Two runs of the same question gave identical site lists in 199 of 240 pairs. So a change in your Perplexity numbers between runs is more likely to be real than noise. ## Community sources matter most on Perplexity **Perplexity is where Reddit and YouTube citations concentrate.** In our July 2026 study it produced 65 of the 75 Reddit and YouTube citations across four engines. In September it cited Reddit in 98 of 240 answers. If your rivals win Perplexity, check whether they win it through community threads rather than their own pages. ## How to read Perplexity in Prefer 1. **Filter to Perplexity.** Use the Filter Bar on any Monitor page. Every number recomputes for Perplexity alone. 2. **Open Competitors, then Sources.** It is split per engine. Filter to one rival to see the domains Perplexity cites for them and not for you. 3. **Read the answers.** On a prompt's detail page, View all chats shows Perplexity's full answer with every cited URL. 4. **Compare runs, not days.** Deltas in Prefer are measured against the previous run, per engine.
