## Seats and projects, plan by plan

**Prefer includes unlimited team members on every plan and meters projects by tier: the more brands you track, the higher the plan.** The figures below render from the same data as the [pricing page](https://tryprefer.com/pricing/), so they always match it.

| Plan | Projects | Team members |
| - | - | - |
| Starter | 1 | Unlimited |
| Growth | 3 | Unlimited |
| Scale | 10 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Unlimited, with SSO |
| Agency track | One workspace per active client | Unlimited |

## What a project and a seat mean in Prefer

The [team and workspaces docs](/docs/account/team-and-workspaces) describe two layers:

* **Workspace.** The top-level account. It holds billing, team members and integrations such as Google Search Console and Slack.
* **Project.** One brand you track. Each project has its own prompts, competitors, content and dashboards, tracked across the same 5 engines on every plan.

A seat is one team member in the workspace. Each member has a role, and the docs name 3 common ones: Viewer, Editor and Admin. Roles decide who can edit prompts, manage content, view billing or invite others.

**Projects share one pooled prompt allowance, so a second project adds a brand, not more prompts.** On Growth, for example, both projects draw from the same 150 tracked prompts. If you run two product lines or two regional brands, split the prompts by priority.

## How to add people and brands, in 4 steps

1. Go to Settings, then Team, and click Invite member.
2. Enter an email and pick a role. You can resend or revoke the invite until it is accepted.
3. To add a brand, go to Settings, then Projects, and click New project.
4. Enter the brand name and website, set the home geography, connect Search Console if you have it, and choose the first prompts.

Creating a project counts against your plan's project limit. At the cap, Prefer asks you to upgrade before adding another. There is no overage billing on brand plans.

## Which setup fits

* **One brand, any team size:** Starter covers it.
* **A marketing team with a second brand or region:** Growth, the most popular plan, gives 3 projects and unlimited team members.
* **Several brands or markets:** Scale gives 10 projects, plus personalised onboarding and a dedicated success manager.
* **Many regions, SSO or custom security:** Enterprise.
* **You report on client brands:** the agency track, with unlimited seats and an isolated workspace per client.

The free trial switches on every premium feature, so a team can test the workspace together. To see where your brand stands first, [run a free audit](https://app.tryprefer.com/audit).

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do Prefer projects each get their own prompt allowance?">
    No. Prefer pools the tracked prompt allowance across the whole workspace, shared by every project. Two projects on Growth share 150 prompts between them, so plan how you split prompts across brands.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I buy extra seats on a Prefer brand plan?">
    You never need to. Every Prefer brand plan includes unlimited team members, so there are no per-seat fees. Projects, prompts and articles are what rise by tier, and at a limit Prefer asks you to upgrade rather than billing overage.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What roles can I give teammates in Prefer?">
    Prefer's docs list common roles such as Viewer, Editor and Admin, which control who can edit prompts, manage content, view billing or invite others. Custom roles and SSO are on Enterprise only.
