Prefer organizes your account around workspaces and projects. A workspace is the top-level tenant that holds billing, team members, and integrations. Inside a workspace, each project represents one brand you track across AI search engines. This guide shows you how to invite teammates, manage roles, and add projects.

How workspaces and projects work

  • Workspace (tenant): the billing unit. It contains team members, integrations, and one or more projects.
  • Project: a brand you monitor. Each project has its own prompts, competitors, content, and dashboards.
Users belong to a workspace with a role. Roles control who can edit prompts, manage content, view billing, or invite others.
SSO, custom roles, and advanced security controls are available on Enterprise only.

Plan limits for projects

If you need more projects, upgrade to Growth, Scale, or Enterprise, or contact support.

Invite a teammate

1

Open team settings

In your Prefer workspace, go to Settings → Team.
2

Send an invite

Click Invite member, enter their email address, and choose a role.
3

Assign a role

Pick the right permission level. Common roles include Viewer, Editor, and Admin. The invitee receives an email to join the workspace.
You can resend or revoke an invite from the same Team page until the user accepts.

Change a team member’s role

1

Open team settings

Go to Settings → Team.
2

Edit the member

Find the teammate in the list and click their current role.
3

Select a new role

Choose the updated role and confirm. The change takes effect immediately.

Create a new project

1

Open project settings

In your workspace, go to Settings → Projects.
2

Add a project

Click New project and enter the brand name and website URL.
3

Configure the project

Set the home geography, connect Google Search Console if available, and choose your first tracked prompts. You can adjust these later.
4

Start tracking

Confirm to create the project. Prefer begins tracking the new brand with its next tracking run.
Creating a project counts against your workspace’s project limit. If you are at your plan cap, you will need to upgrade before adding another project.
