Content Studio is the AEO content workbench inside Prefer. It gives you three surfaces to produce and improve content that AI search engines are more likely to cite: Create Content for new drafts, Optimise Content for existing pages, and Content Gap for finding missing coverage. All three funnel into one shared full-screen Editor with live scoring, inline diffs, and step-by-step guidance.

Create Content

Use Create Content when you want to produce a new article built for AI search visibility.

How it works

  1. Open Act > Content Studio > Create Content.
  2. Choose a draft from the list, or start a new run.
  3. Configure the run in the agent modal: select content type, length, target prompt, persona, tone, and language.
  4. Toggle the tools you want the agent to use, such as Google Search, reference page analysis, or featured image generation.
  5. Choose a writing mode:
    • Generate — the agent researches, builds a brief, writes a draft, and scores it.
    • Self-write — you build the outline and write in the Editor with live guidance.
  6. The run stages through research, analysis, brief building, drafting, and scoring. You can watch progress live and cancel if needed.
  7. When the run completes, the draft opens in the shared Editor.

Steps to create an AEO article

1

Start a run

From the Create Content list, click Run content agent. Fill the brief: type, length, the prompt you want to win, persona, tone, and language.
2

Choose tools

Toggle the research and generation tools you want. For example, enable Google Search and Analyse Reference Pages to ground the draft in real SERP data.
3

Generate or self-write

Pick Generate for a full agent draft, or Self-write to control the outline and writing.
4

Open in the Editor

When the run finishes, the draft opens in the Editor. Review the workflow rail scores and refine the content.

Optimise Content

Use Optimise Content when you already have a live page and want to improve its AI search performance.

How it works

  1. Open Act > Content Studio > Optimise Content.
  2. Select a page from the list, or paste a URL.
  3. Configure the optimisation run: choose the page level, target prompt, persona, tone, and tools.
  4. The agent reads the live page, finds who AI currently cites, compares head-to-head, and stages improvement suggestions.
  5. The result opens in the Editor with inline diffs. You can accept or reject each suggestion, and the SEO and AEO scores update live.

Steps to optimise an existing page

1

Select a page

From the Optimise Content list, choose a page or enter its URL. Click Run optimisation agent.
2

Set the brief

Choose the page level, the prompt you want to win, persona, tone, and any tools.
3

Review inline diffs

When the run completes, the Editor opens with suggested changes highlighted. Accept or reject each diff. The workflow rail updates scores in real time.
4

Customise the brief

Click Customise in the Editor to adjust term targets, content structure, topics, and competitor references. Commit your changes to re-score the draft.

The shared Editor

The Editor is the same full-screen workspace for both Create and Optimise runs. It includes:
  • WYSIWYG canvas — a contenteditable surface with formatting toolbar, bubble menu on selection, and slash commands for quick insertion.
  • Workflow rail — a live scoring panel showing SEO and AEO gauges, a verdict band, and a five-step drill-down: coverage, terms, facts, intent, and structure.
  • Inline diff mode — available on optimise runs, showing suggested additions and deletions you can accept or reject one by one.
  • Step surfaces — research, outline, draft, and polish views that guide you through the content process.
  • Featured image generation — generate a cover image directly from the Editor.
  • Social post variants — create three promotional post variants from the finished article.
  • Plagiarism scan — check originality before you publish.
The workflow rail scores update as you type. Watch the gauges move when you add an answer-first paragraph, cover a missing term, or improve structure.

Publishing

Prefer includes a WordPress connect UI inside the Editor. You can link your WordPress site and push content from the publish modal. The actual publish step is stubbed today: the connect UI is ready, but the live publish integration is coming in a later release. For now, export your content and publish manually, or check the FAQ for the latest status.
Content you create or optimise is saved automatically. Version history and comments are captured in the Editor so you can restore earlier drafts or collaborate with your team.
