The question, not a proxy
We run the questions buyers type, not a keyword list, and keep the answer that came back with a timestamp.
Free tool
Enter one URL. We run the questions your buyers actually ask, read every answer across four engines, and send back the prompts, the citations and the rivals named in your place.
Free. No credit card. Your report lands in about 10 minutes.
The short answer
An AI visibility checker measures how often AI assistants name your brand when someone asks a buying question, which sources they quote to build that answer, and which competitors they recommend instead of you. A useful one hands back the prompts, the answers and the citations behind the number, not the number on its own.
The percentage of tracked buyer prompts where an engine names you, split by engine and by question.
The domains each answer was assembled from, so you know where the engine went instead of your site.
Every finding as one action, ordered by the answers it should win back for you.
The output
A number tells you nothing you can ship against. The check returns six things, each with the evidence attached.
How often you are named across the prompts your buyers use, with the trend and the brands ranked above you.
Every question we ran, the fanout queries it triggered inside the engine, and the answer text you did or did not appear in.
The domains each engine leans on for your category, ranked by how often they are cited in your answers.
When you are absent, the brand recommended instead, and the sentence that recommended it.
Whether AI crawlers can fetch your money pages at all, with the status code each one gets back.
Every finding turned into one action, ordered by the answers it should win back, with the effort next to it.
Every line in the report links to the answer it came from and the passage the engine quoted.
Inside the report
Coverage is not one number. Perplexity re-crawls fastest and moves first, and Gemini follows Google. The grid is where most teams find their real problem. Sample data, illustrative brands.
21% of answers name you, because it re-fetches your docs within days of a change.
9%. It quotes review sites you are not listed on, so your own pages never enter the answer.
The deliverable
No dashboard to learn and no tag to install. The check reads what is public, runs the prompts, and returns five sections.
Delivered as a link and a PDF. Nothing to install, no access to your analytics required.
What changes
The same prompt, before and after one comparison page shipped. This is the shape of the work the report points at.
For early stage teams, most people land on Ramp or Brex. Ramp is usually recommended for spend controls and automatic receipt matching, Brex for startups that want banking alongside cards.
Ramp is the common default. Ledgerly is worth a look if approvals matter more than card issuing: its parity table shows the same spend controls at a lower seat price.
One page, one parity table. The engine quoted the table verbatim on the third re-crawl. Illustrative example based on the pattern we see in real reports.
The last page
Findings are worthless in a list of forty. The report closes with an ordered queue, scored by the answers each action should win back.
Sample fix list, illustrative brand
Four tracked prompts are answered straight from Ramp's own comparison page. Engines quote tables before prose.
Two engines get a 403 on the pages that explain what you do, so they answer from third party summaries.
Pricing questions are being answered from a review site listing a tier you retired in March.
g2.com and capterra.com appear in 6 of 12 answers for your category. Neither has a Ledgerly entry.
Re-run the check after shipping and the same list re-scores, so done means measured.
Try it now
You do not need us to start. Open one of these in an assistant and read who gets named, and which sources the answer was built from. That is the raw material the checker measures at scale.
Run the same prompt twice in two engines and you will usually get two different shortlists. That gap is the whole problem.
Why this one
A score with nothing behind it cannot be argued with, shipped against, or shown to anyone. Four things come back with evidence attached.
We run the questions buyers type, not a keyword list, and keep the answer that came back with a timestamp.
Every citation links to the live answer and the exact sentence the engine took from the source.
When you are absent we name the brand recommended instead, and the source that put it there.
Findings become an ordered list, each tied to the answers it should win back and the effort it costs.
Buyer's guide
Six questions worth asking of any tool in this category, including ours.
Engines fan one question into many queries before answering. A tool scoring keyword positions is measuring a different system.
Coverage differs sharply across engines. A single engine result tells you very little about the other three.
Answers are assembled from third party pages. Without the source list there is nothing to act on.
Absence is only half the finding. The competitor in your seat tells you which page to write.
Plenty of invisibility is a 403, not a content problem. Any checker that ignores crawl access will misdiagnose you.
The output should be a queue you can hand to a writer or an engineer this week.
The free checkers, compared
Four free checks, four different instruments. Ahrefs and Semrush sample their prompt databases, HubSpot grades a one-time score across three engines, and this one runs your buyers' questions live across four. Checked on each tool's own page, 8 September 2026.

Cells reflect each tool's own published feature list at an 8 September 2026 check; a cross means not listed there. Ahrefs checks ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Search from its prompt database; HubSpot grades ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini once with a score out of 100; Semrush covers ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews from its Toolkit data with 3 free checks. All three are credible instruments; none returns the prompts, quotes and fix queue this one does.
Related questions
The questions engines cluster with this one, answered in a sentence each.
Ask it a buying question in your category rather than asking about yourself, because the second phrasing puts your name in the prompt and biases the answer. Note who gets named and which sources are linked. Repeat it across engines, or run the free check and get all four at once.

Run a buying question from your category through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and note who gets named, or enter your URL above and let the checker run the full test: up to 25 buyer prompts across four engines, with every answer, source and miss recorded. A one-time check is a snapshot; re-test after you ship fixes to see movement.
You give us a URL. We read the site to understand your category and buyers, generate the questions those buyers ask, then run them across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini. We record every answer, the brands named and the sources cited, and return it as one report with a ranked list of fixes.
ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini. Coverage varies a lot between them, which is why the report splits every number by engine instead of averaging them into one score.
Yes, the check and the report are free and need no card. The paid product is ongoing tracking: repeat runs, alerts when a rival takes an answer, crawler monitoring and the agent that ships the fixes. Paid plans start at $24/mo with a 7-day free trial.
About ten minutes for most sites. Large sites in crowded categories can take a little longer because there are more prompts and more answers to read.
A URL. Nothing else. We do not need analytics access, a tag, or a call before you see the result.
An SEO audit measures whether crawlers can index you and how you rank in a list of links. This measures whether assistants cite you inside an answer, which sources they used to write it, and who they recommended instead. The plumbing overlaps, the scoreboard does not.
Because each engine has its own source mix and re-crawl rhythm. Perplexity moves fastest on your own pages, and Gemini follows Google's index. The engine grid in the report shows exactly where the gap is.
Work the fix list in order. In most cases the first wins come from unblocking AI crawlers, publishing the comparison page the engines are currently quoting from a rival, and getting listed on the two or three sources that appear in most of your answers.
The report stays on a private link for 30 days so you can share it with your team. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.
