What is the Prefer platform?
Prefer is an AI visibility platform that measures how ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Perplexity answer your buyers' questions, then does the work to win the citation. The Measure modules read the answers: which brands are named, which are cited, which sources each answer leans on, and how that changes week to week against the competitors you name. The two halves share one dataset, which is the point. A rank tracker tells you that you were absent. Which AI engines does Prefer track?
ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Perplexity, on every plan. Claude is available on Enterprise. Each engine is reported separately, because in our own study of 960 answers the engines rarely cited the same sources.
What is the difference between Measure and Act?
Measure is the three modules that read the answers: Answer Engine Insights, Agent Analytics and Competition, with the free audit as the way in. Act is the four that change them: Optimise Content, Content Gap, Create Content and the Action Center queue that ties each fix to a measured outcome. Prefer runs both on the same data, so every action is checked against the number it was meant to move.
How is Prefer different from an AI rank tracker?
A rank tracker reports whether you appeared. Prefer records the mention, the citation and the sources behind each answer, benchmarks you against named competitors, and then drafts the pages and recommends the off-page work that earns the citation.
