Every plan can track any country
Prefer lets every plan track any of 197 countries. That includes Starter. There is no separate fee for adding a market, and the /pricing matrix lists countries as unlimited on every tier. In Prefer, a country costs prompt slots, not money: each prompt tracked in each country uses one slot. That is the whole rule. Engines do not multiply the count. Countries do. One prompt tracked in the US, the UK and Germany is three slots. How to budget slots across markets
Your allowance is pooled across the workspace, so you decide how to spread it. Here is what each self-serve plan covers at different market counts, if every prompt runs in every market:
You do not have to run every prompt everywhere. A common split is a full set in your home market and a short set of category questions in each new one. Enterprise is custom, with unlimited prompts.
How accurate each market is
20 major markets get precise Google geolocation in Prefer; in every other country, Prefer states the market in the question itself. Both approaches ask the engines about the right market. The first sends the question as if from that place. The second writes the place into the question, for example “best payroll software in Portugal”. Keep that difference in mind when you compare a precise market with a stated one.How to read results by country
- Add a region to each prompt. Each prompt and region pair is one slot.
- Filter by region. The Filter Bar on any Monitor page narrows every metric to one country.
- Compare rivals per market. Different markets often surface different competitors and sources, so check the Competitors console per region.
- Check prompt volume by region on each prompt’s detail page.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a country limit on Prefer's Starter plan?

No. Prefer lets every plan, Starter included, pick from 197 countries. The real limit is your prompt allowance, because each prompt tracked in each country uses one slot.
What does precise Google geolocation mean in Prefer?
What does precise Google geolocation mean in Prefer?
In 20 major markets, Prefer runs prompts with precise Google geolocation, so answers come back as they would for someone in that market. In other countries Prefer states the market in the question itself. Both count as one slot per prompt per country.
Do engines multiply the count when I add a country in Prefer?
Do engines multiply the count when I add a country in Prefer?
No. In Prefer only countries multiply. One prompt in one country is one slot, and all five engines run inside it, so three countries means three slots, not fifteen.
