Yes. Prefer stores the complete answer text each engine returns for every tracked prompt. Open a prompt and use View all chats to read the exact ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews or AI Mode response, with brand mentions and cited sources highlighted. Last updated 3 October 2026 Yes, Prefer keeps the whole answer, not only the score. Every time Prefer runs one of your tracked prompts, it waits for each engine’s full response and stores the complete text. That matters because a score tells you something changed, while the answer tells you what the engine actually said and which sources it leaned on.

What Prefer keeps from every answer

Prefer stores the complete answer text plus 3 extracted layers: brands in order, cited URLs and a sentiment label per mention. The brand order is what drives Avg Position and Rank. The URLs drive Citation Share and the source views. The sentiment labels drive the Sentiment mix. Because all of it comes from the same stored text, you can always walk from a number back to the words that produced it. This is the same record across all 5 engines on every self-serve plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Prefer Enterprise adds every other AI model you need, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek and Qwen.

Two ways to open an answer

You can reach a full answer from a prompt or from a metric, and both land on the same stored text. From a prompt, open the Prompts console and click any prompt. The Prompt Detail view has a View all chats link that shows the exact answer each engine returned. The same screen shows other products named as chips, Share of Voice per run, prompt volume by region, sentiment across runs, common terms the engines use around your brand, prompt fanouts with citation badges, and the Top Domains and Top Citations for that prompt. From a metric, open the Competitors console and click into a number or a brand. A per-engine Evidence Drawer slides out with the full answer text, brand mentions and cited sources highlighted. The Competitors docs describe it as the way to verify any number back to raw evidence.

How to audit an answer in 5 steps

  1. Open the Prompts console and pick a prompt where your Share of Voice dropped.
  2. Click View all chats and read the answer from each engine.
  3. Compare the brands named before you with the ones named after you.
  4. Check the cited URLs: is the source an owned page, a review site, a listicle or a forum?
  5. Use the prev and next arrows to walk through every prompt in your active filter without going back to the list.
Reading 10 answers usually explains a metric swing faster than any chart. Answers also vary between runs, since engines can shift within hours, so read more than 1 run before you call a change real. Prefer labels every delta vs the previous run for this reason. The Answer Engine Insights module is where these views live, and competitive analysis adds the Evidence Drawer for rivals. To read real answers about your brand before you sign up, run a free AI visibility audit.
