Pages audited, by plan
Prefer’s page audit covers up to 50 pages on Starter, 500 on Growth, 2,000 on Scale, and an unlimited number on Enterprise. The figure appears on the pricing page as “Pages / URLs audited”, in the competitive and coverage group, next to competitors tracked, countries, languages and historical data.
The page count is separate from your prompt allowance. Prompts measure what AI engines say. Audited pages measure what your own site offers them to quote.
What Prefer does with the audited pages
The audit is not a report you read once. Two parts of the app depend on it.- Content Gap. Prefer matches your audited pages against each tracked prompt to score coverage from 0 to 100. The Content Gap page says every URL is fetched, parsed and understood, and failed URLs are reported rather than dropped. A page AI cannot read counts as a gap even when the content is there.
- Action Center. Technical, Schema, Entity and Analytics cards come from your most recent audit. These cover things like AI bots blocked in robots.txt, missing Organization or FAQPage schema, weak sameAs links and stale dates on money pages.
Picking the right page limit
Count the pages that could plausibly be cited for a buyer question: product and pricing pages, comparison pages, integration pages, help articles and blog posts. Skip tag archives, paginated lists and thin utility pages.- If that count is under 50, Starter’s audit covers it.
- If it is in the low hundreds, Growth fits, which also adds the action engine that turns audit findings into ranked cards.
- If you run a large docs site, help center or catalog, look at Scale or Enterprise.
How this differs from the free audit
The free AI visibility audit is a different thing with a similar name. It reads your site to build a brand profile, then runs roughly 30 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini once and returns a shareable report. It does not use your plan’s page allowance, and it needs no account or card. Run the free audit to see your starting point before you choose a plan.Frequently asked questions
What happens if my site has more pages than my Prefer plan audits?
What happens if my site has more pages than my Prefer plan audits?
Prefer audits up to your plan’s page limit, and a higher tier raises it. Prefer does not bill overage on brand plans; at a limit it asks you to upgrade. For a large site, Scale or Enterprise is the practical choice.
Is the Prefer page audit the same as the free AI visibility audit?
Is the Prefer page audit the same as the free AI visibility audit?
No. Prefer’s free audit runs about 30 prompts on three engines and reports how AI talks about you. The plan’s page audit reads the URLs on your site so Content Gap and the Action Center can tell you which pages to fix.
Do I need the Prefer page audit to start tracking?
Do I need the Prefer page audit to start tracking?
No. Prefer tracks prompts without it. Without audit data, Content Gap starts your indexed page count at zero and shows citation gaps only, and the Action Center fills technical cards from best-practice templates.
