Prefer has four ways to pay: three self-serve brand plans, a custom Enterprise plan, an agency track, and the done-for-you Prefer Managed service. Prefer’s self-serve plans cost $24, $129 and $399 a month, and the price changes with volume, never with which AI engines you get. All prices are listed in US dollars, as shown on the Prefer pricing page on 3 October 2026. Each self-serve tier tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. What rises with the price is the count of prompts, drafted articles, competitors and projects; team members are unlimited on every plan. Starter covers 3 competitors and 1 project; Scale covers 30 competitors and 10 projects.

Agency and done-for-you pricing

Agencies pay Prefer a flat $99 a month plus $299 for each active client, and each client gets a Growth-level workspace. Seats are unlimited on the agency track, white-label reports are included, and pausing a client stops its fee from the next cycle. Agency billing is monthly only and is set up with the Prefer team rather than bought online. Prefer Managed is a different product: a team runs the whole AI search program for you. It costs $2,500 a month, flat, with the platform, a named strategist, articles, links and community answers inside the fee. Optional paid media or placements are the only separately billed item, typically $1,000 to $3,000 a month, always pre-approved.

What the price does not include

Three honest limits are worth knowing before you budget:
  1. No free-forever plan. Prefer offers a 7-day free trial with no card, then a paid plan. The one-time free audit is separate and always free.
  2. No self-serve add-ons. Extra prompts, engines and articles cannot be bought on top of a brand plan today. More capacity means moving up a tier.
  3. No overage billing. At a limit Prefer asks you to upgrade instead of charging for the extra usage.
